PMP – Perceptual Motor Programme

Most of our year one and some year two children participate in PMP.  This programme is held in the school hall, 8.50 to 9.20 Tuesday to Friday.  This programme develops motor skills through lots of enjoyable, sequenced activities:

  • Balance
  • Hand-eye & foot-eye co-ordination
  • Body image & position in space
  • Locomotion & fitness
  • Auditory memory
  • Eye tracking

PMP helps the children to:

  • Concentrate
  • Remember
  • Follow instructions
  • Organise themselves

These are underlying skills necessary for:

  • Reading
  • Handwriting & Writing
  • Maths
  • Problem solving
  • Sports skills
  • Fitness

Adult supervisors are required to run this very worthwhile programme. Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts – do you have half an hour to spare?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
