“Woo!” The crowd went wild as the ten year olds crossed the finish line.
“Calling all nine year olds,” Mrs Stevens said. As people gathered around her I saw my friend, Alyssa, sitting down. She didn’t hear Ms Stevens so I ran over to her and said, “We’re starting,” so she stood up and ran over the the bunch and I ran with her.
As soon as we knew it we started. I ran through the bush and ran a little more. Running past the food stand, I had a bad stitch and I wanted to give up. I crossed the finish line.
Next it was Charli’s turn. “Go, Charli,” I said as she crossed the line of finish. I walked in the rain to school and I felt proud of myself for finishing the race.
