On a bright sunny Friday morning the children from DPS made their way to the town pool.  Butterflies fluttered in stomachs and the air was filled with excitement.  

The first racers braced themselves for a chilly entry.  With a blow of his whistle Mr Stringer readied the competitors.  With a toot of his horn, they were off.

The day was filled with smooth swimming, splashers, belly busters, laughter, winners, place getters, sizzling sausages, wet towels, record breakers but most importantly encouragement and enthusiasm.

The clouds came over, the races ended and we made our way home.
