Watch this space as we develop our understanding & skills through the term!

Some of the senior children followed a process to change recycled materials into wearable art.

These were modelled by some of the younger children.

The varying outcomes were AMAZING!

Transforming!!!!!

Room 13 made WOBBLE GOBBLES!

We transformed water, sugar and jelly crystals.

We mixed and stirred and heated and cooled and beat and rolled our ingredients to transform them into WOBBLE GOBBLES!

Finally we ate our WOBBLE GOBBLES!

The 'Paparazzi' from Room 10 came and caught the action as we did our final transformations! The paparazzi were Shae and Tane.

Transformation though the process of heating!

We transformed popcorn, bread and a candle through the process of heating.

The popcorn was small, hard, yellow and round. After heating, it was big, fluffy, white and softer.

The bread was soft and white. After heating, it was brown and harder. (We kept toasting a slice – it became black, hard, cracked easily – and it SMELT!)

The candle was cold, hard and white. After heating, some of it was hot, runny and clear. Then it cooled and was hard again.

We transformed jelly crystals by heating and mixing, and then cooling.

As part of our inquiry on TRANSFORMATION, Room 2 have been investigating how paint can be transformed into new colours by mixing them together.

We’ve also been learning how a blank piece of paper can be transformed into a work of art, as Vincent Van Gogh has done with his beautiful paintings.

After a lot of experimenting and fun, we’ve drawn and painted our own self-portraits.
